  • Eastern Panhandle: Populations of more than 200,000  
  • Mid-Ohio Valley: Populations between 70,000 and 100,000   
  • Mountain Lakes: Populations between 40,000 and 70,000  
  • Potomac Highlands: Populations between 70,000 and 100,000  
  • Metro Valley: Populations between 100,000 and 150,000  
  • Hatfield-McCoy Mountains: Populations of less than 40,000  
  • New River/Greenbrier: Populations of less than 40,000 

For those with household incomes of more than $100,000, here are the populations in the following regions of West Virginia.

  • Northern Panhandle: Populations between 50,000 and 60,000  
  • Mountaineer Country: Populations between 20,000 and 30,000  
  • Eastern Panhandle: Populations of more than 60,000  
  • Mid-Ohio Valley: Populations between 30,000 and 50,000  
  • Mountain Lakes: Populations between 20,000 and 30,000  
  • Potomac Highlands: Populations of more than 60,000  
  • Metro Valley: Populations between 50,000 and 60,000  
  • Hatfield-McCoy Mountains: Populations of less than 20,000 New River/Greenbrier: Populations of less than 20,000
