A commitment to investing in WV Opportunity Zones

WV Forward continues to assess the needs of Opportunity Zone investments by engaging project managers in all corners of the state, as we work alongside the Opportunity Appalachia program. This three-state effort provides technical assistance to targeted rural Opportunity Zone communities.

The WV Forward team will also be learning about strategies to spur investment at a roadshow event hosted by the Opportunity Zone Association of America in Pittsburgh next week.

A federal update: The federal government recently announced 160 actions taken by the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council to promote investment in Opportunity Zones across the country. Federal agencies are giving priority consideration to grant-funded projects that support Economic Development, Education and Workforce Development, Entrepreneurship, and Safe Neighborhoods in Opportunity Zones.
