Italian manufacturer opens doors in Weirton, creating jobs and industry growth

Generating business leads, attracting new businesses and employers and driving industry growth are three main pillars of Commerce's every day mission. Last week, Mike Graney, executive director of the West Virginia Development Office and WV Forward partner, had the opportunity to celebrate one of the state's latest success stories in Weirton.

State and local leaders gathered at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of an Italian manufacturing plant in the Three Springs Business Park, which represents a total investment of $9 million. The Pietro Fiorentini Group recognized West Virginia's pro-business climate and opportunities to expand their manufacturing capabilities locally, so they decided to open a new location in West Virginia.

This is a great example of how West Virginia's great business climate and unique assets can attract more businesses while growing one of our most thriving industries.
