Partner Spotlight: Berkeley Springs talent attraction efforts display the WV Forward blueprint in action

“Come to Berkeley Springs, the future is here,” is the message Jeanne Mozier – award winning writer, political advisor and longtime Morgan County resident – aims to spread near and far to attract talent to the community she loves and calls home. While Amazon is slated to bring in 25,000 high-paying tech jobs 90 minutes away from Berkeley Springs, the community is ready to seize this opportunity to attract new residents and talent.

Mozier and the Berkeley Springs-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce recently launched a new “future growth task force” to help draw in that flood of new people. They are examining what community factors resonate with individuals who may consider moving to Berkeley Springs. The task force is currently exploring ways to set up a capital funding source to help entrepreneurs and startups more easily launch businesses and looking at how to create more affordable housing in the area.

“There are so many reasons for people to move here. As one of the top art towns in the country with breathtaking scenery and tourist activities unrivaled across the U.S., to the fact that there are three times as many massage therapists as lawyers, while near the nation’s capital, this small town has a lot to offer.”

This task force's major goal is "convening," driven by leadership, vision and enthusiasm, to showcase how the WV Forward blueprint is being implemented in communities across the Mountain State.
