WV leaders push for equal pay as WV Women Moving Forward continues to address gender wage gap

While the WV Women Moving Forward wage gap group continues to address the gender wage gap in West Virginia (thanks to a dedicated and passionate team led by Michelle Foster), the issue of equal pay is also in the national spotlight.

Americans across the country are proudly celebrating the US women's soccer team World Cup victory, but West Virginia leaders are taking additional steps to address the issue. US Senator Joe Manchin introduced a bill this week to push the US Soccer Federation to pay the American men’s and women’s teams equally, which was prompted by WVU women’s soccer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown.

The WV Women Moving Forward group looks forward to sharing some exciting updates and new initiatives this fall! In the meantime, if you've been having discussions on equal pay or reducing the WV gender wage gap, let us know! Tag us @WVForward or email us!
