#TeenTechWeek dovetails with WV commitment to build the cyber and IT talent pipeline

In recognition of #TeenTechWeek, there's a lot to celebrate. There has been a strong commitment among government, higher education institutions and industry to build the talent pipeline that directly channels the right education and training to tech jobs in all regions of the state.  And that pipeline continues to grow day by day, month by month.

Just in the past few weeks Governor Justice signed a new law that makes West Virginia the first state in the nation to require that all students have access to computer science education K-12. Marshall University hosted a "Swift Introduction" workshop through a collaboration with Apple's national development executive Chad Reynolds. And, a new 'Girls Go CyberSmart' program launched to encourage girls to explore careers in cybersecurity. These initiatives just break the surface of the work underway to build the cyber and IT sector.
