To achieve long-term economic prosperity, West Virginia must empower more women to chart our path forward. West Virginia has the lowest percentage of women in the labor force in the U.S., (10% below the national average), and a higher than average gender wage gap. West Virginia will be most prosperous when everyone has an equal shot at a good job and sustainable pay. Let's work on that!

In 2019, we will identify ways to improve:Barriers that prevent women from entering or staying in the workforce;Educational opportunities for girls & women in WV;Factors that lead to a lifelong wage gap compared to their male peers; The role of mentoring. WV Forward, the WV Public Education Collaborative and the WVU's Provost Office are partnering to coordinate results-oriented conversations.
