Tri-State Coalition, Vision Shared, WV Forward seek downstream sector collaboration in 2019
On December 12, the Tri-State Shale Coalition Conference was hosted in Morgantown by Vision Shared to advance downstream manufacturing opportunities in the shale gas region. A 2015 MOU among governors from West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania was signed to ensure the region captures the full benefit of this once in a generation opportunity. That MOU was renewed this year, paving the way for more progress on transportation, marketing, workforce, research and innovation.
Among other presentations, four top partnership opportunities were shared, as identified from the WV Forward Blueprint and McKinsey studies for Ohio and Pennsylvania. Government attendees included representatives from the West Virginia and Pennsylvania development office, Ohio Governor's office and Governor-elect Dewine's transition team. Others included Team PA, Jobs Ohio, the Allegheny Conference, the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, WV Forward steering members, TEAM NEO and higher education leaders across the region.
Vision Shared President Cory Dennison said, "Vision Shared was very excited to host such an important meeting among the three states, and we are proud of the work that has been done with the Tri-State Shale Coalition to lead the region forward."
