WV Forward, Federal Reserve Bank Host Capital Providers Workshop to Grow Business
WV Forward joined with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond today to host a workshop with impact investors, loan collaborative members, economic experts and others to come up with new and better ways to expand investment opportunities for businesses to start and grow.
WVU President Gordon Gee, Marshall University President Jerry Gilbert and Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond President Tom Barkin underscored the importance of funding in creating new and robust businesses. Fed experts presented community development data, new resources like Opportunity Zones, and participants learned about innovative successes like the WV Loan Collaborative and Impact Appalachia.
This is the first of a series of workshops addressing the entrepreneur assistance landscape to help move West Virginia businesses forward. Through these efforts, WV Forward will outline reported barriers and opportunities for capital access in the State and design resources for helping entrepreneurs navigate the sometimes rugged start-up funding terrain.
