Women Power: First in a series of human capital events affecting women
Women from across West Virginia, representing public and private organizations, education, government, non-profits, community activist groups, innovation and entrepreneurial programs and more, gathered at the first in a series of events to discuss human capital challenges, with a focus on women. The kickoff meeting served to harness the power of all West Virginians to ultimately change the trajectory of women and girls in West Virginia. What are the economic and situational barriers women face when joining or rejoining the paid workforce? How can we empower more girls and women to pursue careers in STEM fields? This was the first of many meetings that will be held across the state to further engage and empower West Virginians to step up, share their big ideas and nurture long-term solutions, together. |
