WV Governor's School for Entrepreneurship
High school students from across the state finished the 21-day West Virginia Governor's School for Entrepreneurship at the end of July, where they heard from a series of speakers from the State Board of Education, WVU, Marshall, business investors and faculty from public and private institutions on the importance to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset.
Hosted by the WVU College of Business and Economics and the WVU LaunchLab, the students were charged with turning problems into solutions and refining the skills and knowledge to execute on their ideas.
At the end of the program, they pitched and exhibited their customer-vetted, market-ready ideas to an audience of 70+ business and entrepreneurial leaders from across the state.
In its third year, this governor’s school helps ensure students gain the confidence and skills at an early age to become West Virginia’s next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.
