CodeWV, launched in December 2017, is the Code.org regional partner for West Virginia. CodeWV's ultimate goal is to grow and sustain a statewide community of computer science educators so that all West Virginia students have the opportunity to learn computer science, which in turn, will better prepare them now for the high-tech jobs awaiting them in the future.
Since its inception, CodeWV has trained 76 middle and high school teachers and 5 facilitators, and it is on track to train 213 elementary school teachers in local one-day workshops by the end of August 2018.
CodeWV will continue to offer and train elementary school teachers throughout the 2018-2019 year in local workshops. Training for additional middle school and high school teachers will be held in Summer 2019.
