Partner Spotlight: West Virginia Public Education Collaborative

The WV State Board of Education. The WV State Superintendent of Schools. The Education Alliance. Alliance for Excellent Education. Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation. Carnegie Mellon University. Representatives of these organizations, among other higher education partners, government officials and lifelong public education experts, make up the WVPEC, a non-partisan collaborative of leaders championing public education.

Last November, the WVPEC hosted a legislative forum that examined McKinsey & Company's findings related to education and human capital, exploring ways that education policy could move West Virginia Forward. This year, the WVPEC has partnered with WV Forward and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond to hold discussions with business and community leaders, policymakers, education experts, school board members, teachers and administrators about educating today's students for tomorrow's workforce. And indeed, tomorrow's workforce begins now. Our pre-school through graduate school programs must offer a life-long learning journey. Together, we must continue to work toward crafting smart education policy.
