Partner Spotlight: Former Marshall, WVU student body presidents encourage youth to start and grow careers in WV
Former student body presidents of Marshall University and West Virginia University are helping us move West Virginia forward by determining ways to attract, secure and retain young talent across West Virginia.
Matthew Jarvis of Marshall, a Nitro native, and Blake Humphrey of WVU from Wheeling, turned their tassels in May and swiftly joined the West Virginia Forward team to help build West Virginia's youth talent pipeline. Serving as fellows for the WV Department of Commerce, some of their ideas include creating tax credit and incentive programs for young people, increasing communication efforts among young people and state organizations, and connecting young talent to various innovation centers throughout West Virginia. It is their hope that their proposals highlight the wild and wonderful resources West Virginia has to offer for young entrepreneurs.
