TechConnect West Virginia releases WV Cybersecurity Workforce Strategic Initiative | WV News

Hoping to attract more students and professionals to the cybersecurity field, TechConnect West Virginia unveiled its WV Cybersecurity Workforce Strategic Initiative Tuesday morning. The initiative, completed with cooperation from the West Virginia Office of Technology, West Virginia High Technology Consortium, West Virginia National Guard and West Virginia Forward, focuses on training and employing state residents in the cybersecurity field.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., spoke last week about her bill to redesignate the New River Gorge National River to the New River Gorge National Park. The designation would include more than 70,000 acres of land along 53 miles of the New River.

 

Huntington Bank dedicates $2 million for economic startups in WV | WV News

West Virginia University’s efforts to transform the state’s economy got a major boost Tuesday with the donation of $2 million by longtime partner Huntington Bank. The money was donated to the university’s Economic Startup Engine, which was announced in October. Its mission is to help new businesses hone their ideas further and develop mentor relationships and partner with existing businesses as part of the West Virginia Forward Initiative.
