Policy Considerations: TPP Taxes, Site Readiness

WV Forward is featuring two hot button policy issues for state leaders to consider in this week's issue of The Blueprint:
  • Finding a balanced solution to tangible personal property taxes while addressing counties, schools and municipalities revenue streams.
  • Moving at the speed of business by creating an inventory of sites ready for development.
Both issues are complex and will require statewide collaboration, and we fully recognize that resolving TPP taxes will rest in the hands of West Virginia policymakers and, ultimately, voters through a ballot measure.

Nevertheless, to move forward and address these challenges head on, policymakers must be armed with the necessary information before they can take action. WV Forward has released two in-depth working documents for our state leaders to consider, which include an analysis of research, assessment of best practices, a year-long series of fact-finding efforts and input from stakeholders and experts.
